When fishing, not all places in a lake or a river are good places to catch one. Fishes always go to places where it is cold during warm seasons and of course to places where there are food for them to consume. Even though lakes are places where fish can find abundant food therefore a perfect place for them to live in, not all areas in lakes have food so you have to really look for parts of the lake where there are lots of food for fish to find. Here is a list of places or spots in lakes and rivers where to find fish easily.

1. Rocky parts of the lake

There are a lot of places like this in the lake. This is a part of the lake which can provide shelter for fishes where they could find food. Also, it is a place for them to mate and reproduce eggs.

2. Beds of Weed

Weed beds are places where you can find fishes used for bait so technically weed beds also attract fishes to catch as they are attracted to the natural bait fishes that could be found in weed beds. Weed beds are a great place to catch fish.

3. Sunken Trees or Logs

Sunken trees or logs, just like rocks, can provide shelter for fishes making it another great place to catch fish.

4. Parts of the lake with Lily pads

Just like weed beds, there are lots of bait fishes under lily pads. The reason for this is those insects which are food for bait fish can be found here. So just like weed beds, the larger fishes are attracted to places with lily pads because of the bait fishes found there making it another great place to find fish to catch.

5. Piers and docks

Under a bridge or by the shore, there are some piers and docks to be found. Just like sunken logs and rocks, piers and docks can provide shelter for fishes. It could be a resting place for them as it gives them shade and also food can be found under piers and docks.

6. Part of the lake where the water goes in and out

All lakes have this because it is what fills the lakes with water. Places like these have lots of food making it a place where fishes usually go to find food.

7. Under bridges

If there is a small pier or a dock for boats under a bridge or a walkway, it is a good place for fishing. The piers and docks of this kind can be found most likely in a river. There is food under the bridges and it provides shade for fishes. As fishes are attracted to cool water it makes this one as well of the best places to find fish to catch.

But for some fishermen, especially in shallow waters, they merely look for any movement on the surface of the water to figure out where the fishes are.
