Four Tips To Getting More Catch

Are you wondering why your friends seem to get more fish than you do? Trying to figure out what their secrets are? Fishing is a competitive sport even when it's something that is done purely out of fun and leisure. It's just in a person's nature to catch more than someone else does in every fishing trip; and in many more cases, people just want to catch more than they did the last time they went fishing. Here are some tips that you can keep in mind for the next time that you go fishing.

• Start early. If you want to catch more fish (and quality fish at that), then you need to rise up and shine even before the sun comes up. They say the early bird catches the worm and it also applies just as well for the angler that's after the fish. Now, fishing early is best in the warmer months of the year. This also means that you should be fishing later in the day if you can't get up too early in the morning. The point is that your timing has to be just right. So what is the rationale behind this?

Well, the sun is something of a deterrent and fish will often feed at first light or when it starts to get dark again. But when the sun is high up and it' hot like in the summer, fish will more than likely swim deeper than usual and this means that your chances of catching them are lessened.

• It's all about temperature. As an angler, you have to know where to find the thermo cline. This is the area in the water where there is a tremendous change in temperature. Basically, in warmer months, a lot of fish look for the thermo cline because it is a much cooler place and therefore there is a lot of food for them too. If you can find that area where they gather, you will most likely increase the number of fishes on your hook.

• Study your fish. Whether it is trout or carp, you have to know what kind of fish you are after. This means that you have to study their habits. One of the habits of trout, for example, is to hang around inlets and outlets of bodies of water. This is especially true if you are fishing near a mountain area. The reason they hang around these areas is because they are rich sources of oxygen, food, and cold water. This is what trouts are attracted to the most. As an angler, you should know habits such as these so that you can catch more fish.

• Experiment. There is nothing worse than a person who tries to do the same thing over and over while expecting to generate different results. You would be insane to be fishing in spots where you have never had a fish bite before. What you need to do is to try fishing in different areas. Try out different baits and fishing styles. Use a lure that you wouldn't normally use when out fishing. What is important is that you use different methods until you find the best one for you. Even when you do find what suits you best, you have to try other things too. Variety in style is the key to becoming a good angler.
