We rebuilt it from the inside out, installing a pure stainless steel main shaft and super-hard Japanese stainless steel ball bearings manufactured under incredibly close tolerances for utter smoothness and strength. (Altogether, it's a 6-bearing system, including PowerLock? instant anti-reverse.) Outside, we encased the whole works inside an anodized die-cast aluminum body and side-cover, crafted the spool out of the same rugged material - except for the titanium nitride spool lip - built the bail wire out of stainless steel, and added a machine-cut aluminum handle. For out-and-out strength and precision operation, you can't beat the Pro Qualifier! Line recovery is in inches per handle turn.
